Grief is the normal and natural response to loss of any kind. Even though grief is universal and overwhelmingly present in our lives, there is widespread misinformation about coping with loss. Unfortunateley, we have normalized ineffective techniques, leading us to intellectualize, mask, and invalidate our pain, perpetuating a disabling reality of sadness, loneliness, and isolation. To grieve is to have loved. There are no clear "stages of grief" but there is way through.
